Michigan Chevrolet Dealers Will Receive Diesel Chevrolet Cruze; 2013 Expected Release

There are more than one alternative to hybrid vehicles to get more efficient fuel mileage and one of them is diesel engines. Michigan Chevrolet dealers have learned the popular Chevy Cruze will be coming to U.S. dealerships in a diesel version in 2013.

DETROIT, M.I. – Michigan Chevrolet dealers welcome the news that they will be receiving another fuel-efficient vehicle to offer their customers, starting in 2013. There are hybrids such as General Motors’ Chevy Volt or mild-hybrids such as the Buick LaCrosse with eAssist, and diesel engines are an option that is steadily growing in the U.S. for higher fuel efficiency.

Currently, the diesel Chevrolet Cruze is already available in Europe and other countries and will finally be available for the U.S. market. The reason it took so long for the decision to bring the diesel to the U.S. market was because automakers such as General Motors believed that there would be no demand for such a vehicle, especially when diesel engines cost more than non-diesel.

Diesel engines get on average 20 to 40 percent better fuel mileage than other gasoline engines of the same size. It is true that the cost of diesel fuel is between five and 10 percent higher than regular gasoline, but diesel engines get better fuel economy because they do not burn as much fuel as gas engines to get the same amount of power.

Other benefits of diesel engines include:

no ignition system so there is no need for a tune up
exhaust systems last longer as diesel fuel exhaust is not as corrosive as gas exhaust
diesel engines may last between 400,000 and 600,000 miles

The more popular diesel available to the market now is the Volkswagen Jetta TDI, which sells for $ 22,995 and earns 30 mpg city and 42 mpg highway. General Motors expects the diesel Chevrolet Cruze to be in direct competition with the VW model, although pricing has not been announced yet.

Michigan Chevrolet dealers may know the highest performing gas-mileage vehicle available from General Motors is the Chevrolet Cruze Eco that is estimated at 42 mpg highway and 28 mpg city. The diesel Chevrolet Cruze is expected to beat those numbers while delivering 50 mpg. This puts the diesel in line to rival other fuel-efficient vehicles like hybrids such as the Toyota Prius.

Dealerships such as Michigan Chevrolet dealers may expect the diesel Chevrolet Cruze in their showrooms by the 2013 calendar year. Consumers may enjoy having another type of vehicle at their disposal to decide from as they choose which fuel-efficient vehicle is right for them.

2013 New Car Models Arriving At Car Dealers Across the United States Announces CarZr.com, the Internet’s Largest New and Used Car Search Engine.

(PRWEB) August 16, 2012

At least 30 updated car models are scheduled to arrive in the United States in time for the 2013 new car model year. Many car manufacturers have been putting off major design overhauls, with only a few auto makers introducing completely updated models in recent years. Say goodbye to the Chevy Avalanche, Hyundai Veracruz, Lexus HS 250h, Mazda CX-7, and the Mercedes-Benz R-Class. All these models have been discontinued. Many of the new 2013 models include updated safety features, including some previous safety features now offered as standard rather than optional.

Acura, Audi, Bentley, Chevrolet, Cadillac, BMW, Ford, Mazda, Kia, Infiniti, Fiat, Mercedes-Benz, Dodge, Buick, and Ferrari are introducing all new car models for 2013, while most major manufacturers are making some changes to popular models that haven’t seen major changes in at least 3-4 model years. Some models updated or overhauled within the last few years such as Acura’s MDX, Audi’s A3, and Chevy’s Silverado series will be carryovers from last year in terms of design features and style.

Top-selling models being redesigned for 2013 include Ford’s Escape and Fusion. Much of the Escape’s new design comes from Ford’s European Kuga model. New features spanning most 2013 models include eco-friendly materials, more user-friendly features, keyless entry, improved fuel efficiency, and more hands-free features to improve driver focus. Honda’s popular Accord will introduce its ninth generation design for 2013 this fall. The redesigned model will feature three powertrain options, including an updated direct injected 3.5 L V6. The new 2013 Honda Accord Sedan is currently available for preview on the car maker’s website.

Chevy will redesign its Malibu and Colorado models for 2013. The Colorado debuted at the Bangkok Motor Show in 2011. The best-selling Chevy truck is believed to be the first diesel mid sized truck model sold in the United States. The redesigned Malibu, now marketing as a global car in all markets, debuted at the Auto Shanghai in China in 2011. Changes include upgraded engines with more torque and power and more standard options such as multiple airbags. These changes echo updates seen in other models for 2013, especially when it comes to offering more safety features as standard rather than optional.

Some auto manufacturers are opting to carry over popular models and hedge their bets on changing one or two models for 2013. Acura is one such auto maker, carrying over most of its models from 2012 into 2013. The company is counting on the Acura ILX, a new model for 2013, to attract the attention of luxury car buyers. Industry analysts suggest that Acura may be planning to discontinue its popular TL and TSX models to create a new TLX model, possibly for 2014. GMC is also carrying over most of its North American models, with only the Terrain receiving a makeover. The 2013 Acadia, unveiled at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show, will be refreshed with the body of the defunct Saturn Outlook.

Kia, often listed as one of the most affordable car brands on the market, is carrying over its popular Rio and Sedona models for 2013. The car maker is focusing on the new Cadenza, available in South Korea since 2009. Edmunds believes that the 2013 model will be a “prime competitor” in the large sedan market segment. Jeep will carryover all of its 2012 models to 2013, while Nissan is designing the Altima. Expect hybrids from all manufacturers to command a greater market share as such cars become more affordable. The overwhelming trend for 2013 new car models is an emphasis on safety and fuel economy.

Next-generation Corvette to Debut in Early 2013 at Guaranty Chevrolet, Orange County

SANTA ANA, Calif. (PRWEB) December 28, 2012

The seventh-generation Corvette will debut Jan. 13, 2013, in Detroit and to start the countdown to 1.13.13, Chevrolet and Guaranty Chevrolet in Orange County previewed the new Crossed Flags logo for the new 2014 Corvette.

The new Crossed Flags logo was unveiled at Road Atlanta, where Corvette Racing celebrated a sweep of the 2012 production-based American Le Mans Series GT championships.

With the new Corvette, designers set out to build a world-challenging sports car with design, refinement, efficiency and driver engagement that is second to none. The result is a truly all-new Corvette for Orange County area drivers. There are only two carryover parts from the C6 used in the C7 – the cabin air filter and the rear latch for the removable roof panel.

“For Orange County area Corvette drivers and enthusiasts the all-new seventh-generation Corvette’s design represents a distinctive American high-performance sports car,” said Joe Renden of Guaranty Chevrolet in Santa Ana. “We are excited for the new Corvette to hit our showroom floors in 2013!.”

The Crossed Flags logo has been a hallmark of the Corvette since its 1953 introduction. It has always incorporated a pair of flags, one a racing checkered flag and other featuring the Chevrolet “bowtie” emblem and a French fleur-de-lis. The design has evolved over the years, and has been featured on more than 1.5 million Corvettes built between 1953 and today.

For the seventh-generation Corvette, the Crossed Flags design is a more technical, more angular and more swept appearance – in proportion that symbolizes the new car. It is also a more detailed representation, showing greater depth, color and attention to detail.

More than 100 variations were considered before the final design was selected.

Over coming weeks, more information and video content about the seventh-generation Corvette will be unlocked on http://www.one13thirteen.com. Enthusiasts can join the conversation about the next-generation Corvette, as well as keep track of new announcements on Facebook (facebook.com/corvette) and Twitter @Chevrolet (#Corvette). Fans that follow the #one13thirteen hashtag on Twitter can look forward to exclusive updates.

FAST FACT: The first Corvette debuted as a concept car on Jan. 17, 1953 at the GM Motorama in New York City. That car originally featured an emblem with a checkered flag crossed with an American flag. Because use of the American flag was prohibited as part of a commercial property, the logo was changed to the fleur-de-lis/bowtie design when the Corvette went into production in June 1953.

autoMedia.com Releases 10 Best Pickup Trucks To Buy In 2013

Torrance, CA (PRWEB) February 28, 2013

Pickup trucks are more than just a big engine and a sturdy bed these days, and a new list from autoMedia.com breaks down the best cars in the segment to help buyers find the truck that fits their needs. The article, Top 10 Pickup Trucks To Buy In 2013, examines pickup trucks of all sizes to recommend the best ones available on the market today.

Here in the United States, pickup trucks still dominate auto sales. A good one can turn into a cash cow that keeps a company afloat, and a bad one sends engineers hustling back to the drawing board. The good news for customers is that there are more and more great pickup trucks available every year, and the current wave of 2013 and 2014 models elevates the game to a new level.

The autoMedia.com articles sorts through the biggest names in the pickup trucks segment and selects the ten best buys, based on traditional truck priorities like durability and value but also more refined qualities like luxury and driving dynamics.

“Pickup trucks are more versatile and well-rounded than ever before, and our new list reflects that,” said autoMedia.com Founder and CEO Doug Hamlin. “Buyers are interested in getting the most bang for their buck, and the article will help them find the truck that best fits their lifestyle. Then they can use the autoMedia.com New Cars buying guide to research the truck they like, and even request a quote.”

The list features the most recognizable names in the pickup truck segment, alongside newcomers and imports out to prove that they have the mettle to make great pickups, too.

At the top of the heap are the Big Three domestic automakers. The Ford F150 is an American icon, but the Ram 1500 earned its 2013 Truck of the Year award and the new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado carries high expectations into its summer release.

In this day and age, however, everyone wants a piece of the pie. Mid-sized pickups also have the Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan to offer, plus the versatility of the Honda Ridgeline crossover pickup. And when it comes to compact pickups, the hunted have become the hunters, as the Nissan Frontier and Toyota Tacoma have emerged as excellent choices.

“There is a lot to choose from, and autoMedia.com is here to help pickup buyers make the right decision,” said Hamlin.
